Wishes for us in 2014
May we learn from the lives of those who came before us, and realize that the best way we can honor their legacy is by leading a life they can be proud of.
Thank you, 2013, for moments and opportunities to take the leap, come to terms with uncertainty, and push limits. To old and new friends, to mentors and parents, and to every kindred spirit, my humble wishes for you (and for myself, too) in the coming year.
That we may move forward in our life at our own pace, in a rhythm we’re most at home with, as we are following the beat of our heart.

That we may encounter people who will add more to what we know and what we have, and whether or not they’re staying the whole trip or just for a while, we will be grateful for having taken this journey together.

That we may be grateful in the simple things, in the moments of every day, in holding on to the essentials while leaving out unnecessary baggage — may they be material things, emotional hang-ups, and even people we’re better off without.

That we may make opportunities out of obstacles, and develop grace under struggles and hardships, because what they say is true — what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.

That we may learn from the lives of those who came before us, and realize that the best way we can honor their legacy is by leading a life they can be proud of.

That we don’t waste any chance to take care of our loved ones, because life is much shorter than we think, and regrets are the last thing we want when it comes to this.

That we enjoy every sunrise and sunset, the shore and the mountains, and most especially, to be in the company of kindred spirits who take the leap with us and make us feel home wherever we are.

That we may be easy on ourselves — whether it’s about the laundry, the backlogs at work, or the crazy things we do for love. We will eventually figure things out, and if it’s meant to be done or meant to stay with us, it will. As John Steinbeck says, “nothing good gets away.”

That we will never lose our childlike innocence and the perpetual hunger for learning. That we may not fall deaf to our calling, our purpose, as the world waits for what only we can offer.

That we just get up and create something, anything!
