Why we need ‘do nothing’ days
We shouldn’t feel guilty when we invest in ourselves, because that’s the only way we can give more, learn more, and love more.

As much as I love hustling, making my birthday a ‘Do Nothing’ Day was one of the most liberating things I’ve ever done. My mom said it’s the best gift I’ve ever given myself, and she’s right. Of course, she’s right!
The past year was one of my toughest years yet – I moved around, managed challenging projects (and people that came with them), lost loved ones to the afterlife or opportunities elsewhere, among others. The version of me from a few years ago would’ve been constantly restless and anxious, but thanks to yoga, journaling, and great support from trusted people, I managed to get by without, well, being such a b*tch.
It’s ironic that it takes a lot of work to do nothing, especially when we’re not used to it or when we’re not ready to deal with ourselves. But I felt like I owed it to myself to do me, and the things that replenish my energy and keep me going. We shouldn’t feel guilty when we invest in ourselves, because that’s the only way we can give more, learn more, and love more.
I do hope you carve out time for your own Do Nothing Day, sooner or later. It’s worth it!
